Soothing Pregnancy Aches and Pains: Pre-Natal Massage

21 Jun

From aching legs and frozen shoulders to stiff necks, these are all parts of pregnancy aches. Pre-Natal Massage can help soothe your aching and very tense muscles and provide you with total relaxation. Pre-Natal Massage has lots of benefits; it helps reduce physical (and emotional) stress, reduce swelling, provide relaxation for mommy and baby, encourage blood circulation, and improves skin elasticity. It can also be very beneficial during labor!

Pre-Natal Massage is not for everyone, though. Mothers must be on their 6th month of pregnancy to qualify for it. Any kind of masseuse or massage therapist must never give Pre-Natal Massages to expecting moms. Specially Trained Therapists must provide the massage, as there are certain areas (lower back, etc) and points in the body that must not be “touched” nor massaged. There are certain parts in the body that may cause contractions and health risks for you and your baby when massaged.

As with any form of activity during pregnancy, it is important that you always consult with your doctor first before engaging in such. Remember, pregnant moms have special needs and certain limits. Pregnancy changes your body’s functions and needs, so you have to be extra careful as you are now caring for two!
